K&N HP-1004 Performance Wrench-Off Oil Filter

  • O/E replacement oil filters for most cars, trucks, SUV's, motorcycles, & ATV's
  • Resin-impregnated filter media traps 99% of harmful contaminants
  • 1 In. exposed nut designed for easy oil filter removal
  • Heavy duty construction for extreme conditions
  • Anti-drainback valve (where applicable) eliminates dry starts, prevents oil from draining back into crankcase during engine shutdown

Excellent protecting for a car that gets driven too hard every day. Side note, they never want to wrench off that well because a wrench tends to slip off, but a filter wrench gets the job done. Who cares if the filter survives removal, really.

You can't go wrong with k&n, and I will never buy another filter that doesn't have the wrench off nut on the end.

I use K&N with every thing. I took a saws all and have cut filters in half. K&N and Purulator were the best. Most were junk. Then there is the micron rating. The junk ones are up to 4 times more. At least it is easy to tell materials and construction when cutting apart and how much surface the filter type has for filtering. One was paper inside.

There is quite a bit of diverse research pertaining to the quality of each filter, I do believe that this is either top tier quality or mid top tier quality. What really gives it 5 stars is the notch at the bottom of the filter that allows us to screw and unscrew without using the old school filter remover. What keeps it at five stars is the price! Thank you!

I've been using this filter for awhile now and I noticed a little cleaner oil when I change it and it's only $5 more then your cheaper brands so $5 is worth it to me to have cleaner oil in my car.

I use K&N oil filters on all my vehicles. This one fits my 2000 Honda S2000. As I don't drive it much, I change the oil and filter annually, not on mileage. Full synthetic oil and a quality K&N filter are cheap insurance for a 9000 RPM motor. Glad Amazon stocks them at a competitive price. For the Honda, easiest access is underneath, and easiest removal tool is this: GearWrench 9032 1-Inch Combination Ratcheting Wrench.

I have not had a problem with this filter. I feel the K&N are better constructed than many of the other brands. This is based on what I have read and what I have seen by my own use.

I've been using K&N oil filters in my Talon and Evo for the past decade, through many different track events. They're very high flowing filters with low pressure drop. K&N has charts on their website that shows how well they flow in low oil pressure situations, where competitors do not as well. Add to that the easy socket on the end for removal, and you have the best oil filter out there, IMO! No you probably won't notice any differences using this filter over others. It's kind of like peace of mind, trusting and knowing it will perform in tough situations. Don't go cheap on the little things for your car, especially when Amazon offers it for 9 bucks, it's only a few more then the cheapest Bosch's out there.

This is a great filter for our 2001 CRV. It's tough to reach that filter with a standard oil wrench - the nut on top of this one makes it much easier to remove than a standard no-nut filter.

Fit my 2018 Hyundai Sonata Sport 2.0T without issues. Easy on and off and the "wrench off" nut made proper tightening a breeze. For the price of a synthetic oil change down the street (oil alone), I changed synthetic oil/K&N filter, cabin air filter and engine air filter. That's $$ in my pocket.
